How to move your subscribers from Shopify Subscriptions to Supr
Supr has a ready-made Shopify Subscriptions importer: you export your subscriptions, we check the file and import them. Your customers keep their products, their schedule and, in most migrations, their saved payment details.
The order of the steps matters: it is what keeps any customer from being billed by two apps.
Install on ShopifyThe six steps
- Turn off your current app on your storefront. Disable its app embed and remove its widget blocks. Do not uninstall it yet: it keeps billing your subscribers until you do.
- Set up your offers in Supr and publish the widget. Do this while your old app is still installed, so you can copy its settings. Nothing changes for shoppers until you turn the widget on.
- Send us your export. Take it after steps 1 and 2, so it includes every subscriber. Send the raw file, not one re-saved in a spreadsheet.
- We import your subscribers, on hold. Nobody is charged and no customer emails go out. We confirm how many came across and why any did not.
- You uninstall your old app. Only after we confirm the import.
- You tell us, and we switch billing on. Billing carries on with us on each customer's existing schedule, so no customer is billed by both apps.
Your Shopify Subscriptions export
Open Subscriptions in that app and use Export to download all contracts as a CSV. Send us the raw file along with your store domain.
What comes across, and what does not
Comes across
- The customer and their saved payment method
- The products and variants, quantities and the price the customer pays, including the subscription discount where the export shows it
- The delivery and billing schedule and the next billing date
- The shipping address, delivery method and shipping price
- The status: active, paused, cancelled and so on
Does not come across
- Past order history inside the subscription. Your orders stay in Shopify under Orders.
- Discounts that lived outside the subscription, such as a separate automatic free shipping discount
- Loyalty points or reward balances from your old app
- Your old app's settings: its widget, portal, emails and plan setup. That is why step 2 comes first.
Why stores move from Shopify Subscriptions
Supr fits if you need more than the basics: bundles, build-a-box, cancellation and pause flows, journeys, loyalty and a customizable widget.

Questions
Will my customers have to re-enter their cards?
In most migrations, no. When your old app charged through Shopify's own subscription system, the saved payment methods live on your Shopify customer records, so they stay with your store. We confirm this for your store before anything moves.
Will customers be charged twice or during the move?
No. Imported subscriptions stay on hold until you have uninstalled your old app and told us you are ready, so no customer can be billed by both apps.
Is there downtime?
No. Your store keeps running, and your existing subscriptions keep billing in Shopify Subscriptions until you uninstall it. New subscriptions go through Supr as soon as your widget is live.
Are customers emailed during the move?
No. Customer notifications are switched off while we import. Their subscription management link changes to the Supr portal, which they will receive in their next email from us.
How long does it take?
It depends on how many subscriptions you have. Send us your Shopify Subscriptions export or tell us roughly how many subscribers you have, and we confirm a timeframe before you change anything.
Do I have to uninstall my old app first?
No, and please do not. Uninstalling ends its billing, so do it only after we confirm the import is complete, so your subscribers are never left without an app managing them.
